What are the benefits of remaining a member of the Online directory?
Not only will other alumni and former classmates be able to locate and get in touch with you, but Harvard Law School will also be able to stay updated with your most recent contact details. This will ensure that you receive invitations to alumni events, HLS news and other information pertaining to the Law School.
What does it mean to opt-out of the online directory?
When you opt-out of the online directory, you are choosing to hide your profile from other alumni. Thus, alumni searching the directory will not be able to view your contact information or any other information included in your profile. If you would like to opt-out of the directory, please editi your profile and choose the 'Opt-out' option at the top of the page.
This option allows you to conveniently update Harvard Law School of your contact information, but your details are hidden from other alumni and will not appear in search results.
How do I opt-out of the online directory?
To opt-out of the Alumni Online Directory, edit your profile and choose the 'Opt-Out' option at the top of the page. Alternatively, you may contact Harvard Law School at firstname.lastname@example.org or (617) 495-3051.
Advising Network
Do I need to opt-out of the Advising Network as well?
The Alumni Advising Network is an Opt-In Network and all alumni automatically default to an 'inactive' status. To serve as an advisor, you will need to change your advising status to 'active'.
If you choose to opt-out of the Alumni Online Directory, your profile will automatically not appear in the Advising Network.
May I opt-out of the directory, but still serve as an advisor?
Of course. Harvard Law School would be delighted to have an alumnus serve as an advisor even if they do not wish to appear in the online directory. To learn more about becoming an advisor, you may contact the Office of Career Services (Private Sector) or the Bernard Koteen Office of Public Interest Advising (Public Sector) and speak with a member of their staff.
